Rishab Shetty took the Kannada cinema to new heights with his movie ‘Kantara’, which became a massive success. This festive season he is all set to return to the theatres with its prequel titled ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’. The movie stars Rishab Shetty as Berme, Rukmini Vasanth as Kanakavathi, and Gulshan Devaiah as Kulashekara.
The film has witnessed strong pre-sales surpassing the opening day collections of the first film.

Kantara Chapter 1 advance booking report
Kantara Chapter 1 has grossed approximately Rs 6.83 crore in advance bookings across India. According to Sacnilk, the Kannada version led the collections with around Rs 5.45 crore from 1,51,602 tickets sold across 1,397 shows, followed by the Hindi version grossing Rs 93.5 lakh from 30,911 tickets in 4,140 shows. The Malayalam version earned Rs 32.3 lakh from 18,020 tickets across 944 shows, the Tamil version collected Rs 6.36 lakh from 3,826 tickets in 413 shows, and the Telugu version grossed Rs 5.44 lakh from 2,679 tickets sold in 101 shows. In total, the film was screened across 6,995 shows nationwide.

With block bookings included, the total advance gross has reached Rs 11.35 crore.
About Kantara Chapter 1
Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, the prequel explores the mythological origins of the story told in Kantara. Set ten centuries before the events of the first film, it features Shetty in a new role alongside Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah.
It will hit theatres on 2 October coinciding with Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari starring Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf.
