Bollywood stars seem to take the idiom ‘clothes make the man’ quite seriously when preparing for their roles. Shah Rukh Khan reportedly spent over Rs 1 crore on costumes for his role in RA. One (2011), and in Krrish 3, Kangana Ranaut’s all-rubber latex suit also comes with a hefty price tag.
We’ve discovered that the makers’ pockets were significantly impacted by Kangana’s custom-made bodysuits, costing a staggering Rs10 lakh per costume. As they acquired approximately 10 such bodysuits, the total expenditure amounted to nearly Rs1 crore.
An insider reveals that all the material for Kangana’s suits originated from the same place in France as Angelina Jolie‘s latex suit for Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003). Rakesh Roshan, the filmmaker, ensured that nothing was left to chance.
When reached for comment, the director stated, “I prefer not to discuss the cost aspect, but we procured the material (for Kangana’s costumes) from Paris. While it’s expensive, I trust that audiences will appreciate my work.” Gavin Miguel, the creator of Kangana’s suit for Krrish 3, mentioned, “I researched Lara Croft, Batman, and Catwoman. We obtained the fabric from the same supplier used by many Hollywood films.”
