Popular singer Kalpana Raghavendar was hospitalised after she was found unconscious at her residence in Hyderabad. The police earlier suspected suicide attempt after the singer was found in unconscious state. Her daughter Daya Prasad Prabhakar has clarified that the siner did not attempt suicide and it was the case of a ‘slight overdose’.
Addressing the rumours of her mother’s alleged suicide attempt, Daya Prasad Prabhakar said in her statement, “My mother is a singer, pursuing her LLB and PhD simultaneously, which has led to insomnia. To treat insomnia the doctors prescribed her a tablet. It was a slight overdose, but this was not a suicide attempt.”
She also refuted the rumours of family problems and said, “My mom and dad are very much happy. Everybody is perfectly fine in the family. Please don’t manipulate things.”
What Happened In The Case?
For the unversed, the security staff at Kalpana Raghavendar’s apartment got worried when her door was locked for two days. The resident’s association tried to contact her but didn’t get a reply. They also called her husband, but he was in Chennai when they couldn’t reach Kalpana.
The association members called the police, who broke down the door to her home and found her unconscious. She was quickly taken to a private hospital in the city. Kalpana’s husband also back from Chennai and said she is on ventilator support.
