The makers have unveiled the trailer of Maa, a mythological horror-thriller starring Kajol in a fierce avatar. Coming from the makers of Shaitaan (2024), which starred Kajol’s husband Ajay Devgn, Maa dives into Indian mythology and supernatural horror.
Taking to Instagram, Kajol dropped the trailer and captioned, “Rakshak. Bhakshak. MAA. The protector. The destroyer. #MaaTrailer out now – link in bio. In cinemas 27th June. #MaaTheFilm”
The trailer starts with Kajol driving her daughter through a dense forest road. Her daughter complains about period pain, and Kajol assures her they’ll stop soon and everything will be fine. But things take a scary turn when a strange figure suddenly crashes into their car window. Soon after, they reach a village called Chandanpur, where something dark and dangerous begins.
Kajol warns her daughter not to go anywhere without her permission. Later, she learns about a cursed tree that is believed to be home to evil spirits. Ronit Roy’s character reveals that several girls have gone missing from that area in recent months. Kajol, angry and determined, says she won’t let her daughter be another victim of the curse.

Maa also stars Indraneil Sengupta, Jitin Gulati, and Kherin Sharma. It is directed by Vishal Furia and produced by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Subbarayan and Kumar Mangat Pathak, and presented by Jio Studios in association with Devgn Films. It is set to release in theatres on 27 June.
