Dulquer Salmaan has returned to the theatres with his movie ‘Kaantha’, which is a period thriller and has created immense excitement. The movie has been receiving a good response from the audience, praising its performances and plot.
After a promising start, Kaantha held well through the weekend. However, as the film stepped into the weekdays, the momentum slowed. Here’s how it has slowed down on the first weekday; let’s check its collection.
Kaantha box office collection day 4:
Kaantha has enjoyed a steady opening weekend at the box office, collecting Rs 15.50 crore in its first four days. The film opened on Friday with Rs 4.35 crore (Tamil: Rs 2.65 crore; Telugu: Rs 1.7 crore) and saw an expected jump on Day 2 (Saturday), earning Rs 5 crore. Day 3 (Sunday) dipped slightly to Rs 4.5 crore, while Day 4 (Monday), as per early estimates, brought in Rs 1.65 crore. Despite the regular weekday drop, the film has managed a respectable total.

The movie also stars Samuthirakani, Bhagyashri Borse and Rana Daggubati in the lead roles.
The movie is set in the 1950s, in Madras and focuses on he legendary director in Tamil, Ayya, and his strained relationship with T. K. Mahadevan, a film star he helped establish. Things take a different turn when Mahadevan renames a female-focused film production that was previously called ‘Shaantha’ to suit his own image to ‘Kaantha’.
