Jigra OTT Release Update: Alia Bhatt turned into an action star for her anticipated movie ‘Jigra’, which was also produced by her and Dharma Productions. Despite receiving a positive response, the movie had an underwhelming performance at the box office. In ‘Jigra’, Alia played the role of Satya, who wants to rescue her younger brother from jail. The movie is expected to arrive on the OTT platform soon after its theatrical release.

According to the website Binged, ‘Jigra’ will release on Netflix on December 6. The makers and the OTT platform are yet to officially announce its streaming date.
Director Vasan Bala, in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, talked about the box office failure of ‘Jigra’ and revealed it came as a surprise for him. He said, “For me, it has always been a struggle to put the film out. But this time, it was a given that the film was going to be out and in a big way. So this is a first for me, and I don’t even know how to process this. What I do know is there is a certain responsibility in the mainstream to deliver (at the) box office.”
He added, “The surprise was the failure because you obviously don’t set out to fail. Also, this was not a very stubborn, I-will-only-deliver-it-this-way kind of film. I thought it was a pretty accessible, straight-arrow film, and the emotions were universal.”

Apart from Alia Bhatt, the movie also starred Vedang Raina in the lead role.
On the work front, Alia will next star in a spy-action film ‘Alpha’ with Sharvari. She will also team up with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for ‘Love & War’. The movie also stars Vicky Kaushal and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles.
