Bombay High Court Gives Deadline For Chahal-Verma Divorce Decision
On Wednesday (March 21), the Bombay High Court told the family court to decide on the divorce request of cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma by March 20. This decision was made because Chahal is set to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season starting March 22.
Chahal and Verma’s Divorce Petition
According to Bar and Bench, Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma, who got married in December 2020, have been living separately since June 2022. In February this year, they decided to file for divorce at the Bandra Family Court. Along with the petition, they also asked to waive the waiting period.
The divorce petition was filed under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act, which allows divorce by mutual consent.
