Actress and politician Jaya Bachchan has openly criticised the title of Akshay Kumar’s one of the most talked about film, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.’ In a recent candid conversation with Indian TV, she questioned the choice of such a name and said she would never watch a movie with that title.
During the conversation she stated, “Abhi aap naam bhi dekhiye toh main aisi picturein khud kabhi na dekhne jau. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, yeh koi naam hai? Yeh koi title hai? Please bataiye aap logo me se kitne log iss tarah ki title wali film dekhne jayenge” (Just look at the name, I would never go to watch such films. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha — is this really a title? Please tell me, how many of you would go to watch a film with such a name?”)
In the respose, when a few audience members raised their hands in support, Jaya quickly remarked back, “Picture flop hai (It’s a flop film),” dismissing the movie’s success with a very blunt statement.
