New Delhi: Atlee Kumar’s Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan is proving to be an unstoppable force at the box office. In just 11 days of its release, the action film has crossed the Rs 800 crore mark worldwide, with a staggering domestic total of over Rs 530 crore, showing its potential to become one of the most successful film in the history of Indian cinema.
Meanwhile, the huge success of Jawan once again highlights why Shah Rukh Khan is known as the ‘Baadshah of Bollywood’. Jawan’s win comes months after SRK created history with the blockbuster Pathaan directed by Siddharth Anand.
Jawan, is currently touching the Rs 500 crore mark in its first weekend and is expected to cross the Rs 1,000 crore mark at the box office, becoming the actor’s second film to cross this milestone. He earned his first 1,000 crore film in January 2023 when his film Pathaan crossed this milestone.
While SRK is the first actor to have two 1000 crore films to his credit, director SS Rajamouli was the first to achieve this milestone with the release of his films Baahubali 2 and RRR.
Good Start
Jawan had a good start at the Indian box office and collected Rs 65.50 crore on its opening day. The film grossed Rs 129.6 crore at the worldwide box office. It was the biggest opening day in the history of Indian cinema.
On Monday, Red Chillies Entertainment, the production house backing the film, announced that the film has crossed the Rs 240 crore mark at the international box office. The film also recorded its highest ever Saturday collection with an estimated collection of 67 crore nett at the domestic box office.
Directed by Atlee, the film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. Actor Deepika Padukone is likely to make a cameo appearance. Additionally, SRK will next be seen in director Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming film ‘Dunki’ alongside Taapsee Pannu. The official release date of “Dunki” is still awaited.
