‘Pushpa 2’ has been receiving immense love and appreciation from the audience. Hollywood blockbuster ‘Interstellar’ was also supposed to release in theatres in India during the same time but it couldn’t be possible as the IMAX screens have been occupied by ‘Pushpa 2’. Many fans of ‘Interstellar’ expressed their frustration on this issue and called out the makers of ‘Pushpa 2’. However, actor Janhvi Kapoor came out in support of ‘Pushpa 2’ and called out people for idolising the west. This has sparked mixed reaction from the netizens as well.
Janhvi Kapoor wrote, “Pushpa 2 is also cinema. Why are we so obsessed with idolising the west and running down things that come out of our own country and instantly disqualifying it from being considered as worthy? The same rooted representation and larger than life tone other countries appreciate and our fascinated by our cinema for, we ourselves are embarrassed of. Sad.”
