New Delhi: One of the numerous international filmmakers who applauded RRR last year was Hollywood director James Gunn, who has been in charge of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise since its start. In a recent interview, the director stated that he would dearly love to collaborate with Jr NTR, the star of RRR.
RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli and starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, received a second screening in US theatres last year. James Gunn was one of several Western directors that took notice of the buzz created by an OTT release. James has been asked to watch RRR by an Indian fan in 2022. When he saw the tweet, he replied to the fan, saying that he had already seen the movie and “totally dug it.”
James Gunn has all praise for Jr NTR
In the interview James Gunn expressed his view to work with the RRR star. he said, “Who is the guy from RRR that’s so good… What’s his name? RRR, the big one from last year? With all the tigers coming out of the cage and everything? That guy (referring to Jr NTR)! I would love to work with that guy someday. So amazing, so cool,” James Gunn told News18.com. When he was asked if he had any particular role in mind for the actor, James said that he will have to figure that out. The filmmaker said, “I don’t know, I would have to figure that one out. That would take a little while.”
Given the significance of music in both Guardians of the Galaxy and Indian films, the question of whether James Gunn was inspired by India in his approach to the music in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise was raised during the same interview. In response, he said, ‘1000 percent’.
