New Delhi: Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez receives a fresh summon by Delhi Police in connection to Sukesh Chandrashekhar money-laundering case. The actress was about to appear before Delhi Police on September 12.
But as the actor sought an alternate date citing prior commitments, the Delhi Police has to reschedule their questioning on September 14.
Jacqueline is asked to appear for questioning in connection to Sukesh Chandrashekhar money laundering case.
Last month, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a charge sheet against the actress naming her as an accused in the scam.
For the unversed, Chandrashekhar is an accused in the 200-crore extortion racket. He executed it from jail by bribing jail officials in crores. The ED stated that he used a wide network to launder money. He’d use it to buy movable and immovable properties.
Few months back, the ED attached assets belonging to the actor and also questioned her. The agency in April provisionally attached ₹ 7 crore assets of the actor under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The ED then stated, “Sukesh Chandrasekhar had given various gifts worth ₹ 5.71 crore to Jacqueline Fernandez from the proceeds of crime generated by criminal activities including extortion. “Chandrasekhar had put Pinky Irani, his long time associate and co-accused in this case to deliver the said gifts to her.”
According to media reports, Jacqueline Fernandez initially did not respond to messages sent to her by conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. Later, he approached the actress through her hairdresser.
Earlier, a source close to the actress told Pinkvilla, “She visited the ashram in July. Took blessings at the Shiv Mandir that was established by Guruji. Someone close to Jacqueline advised her to visit Guruji’s ashram in Chattarpur to turn tough times into better times.
