The box office in April has witnessed an interesting clash of some of the most anticipated releases where Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2 and Sunny Deol’s Jaat went head to head. While Jaat premiered on April 10th and Kesari Chapter 2 followed closely behind with a release on April 18. Despite the staggered debuts, both films enjoyed strong initial interest, but their performance soon revealed contrasting fortunes.
Kesari Chapter 2 Total Collection
As per reports by Sacnilk, Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2 which also stars Ananya Panday and R. Madhavan opened with a respectable Rs. 7.75 crore on its first Friday. It picked up steam over the weekend by peaking at Rs 12 crore on Sunday. However, the momentum didn’t last long. The film saw a sharp drop on Monday with collections down to Rs. 4.5 crore bringing its total of Rs.40.14 crore after 6 days.
Jaat Box Office Collection
According to Sacnilk, Jaat had earned approax Rs.5.3 crore on its first Tuesday, bringing the total to around Rs.52. 85 crore on its 6th day. The film opened at Rs. 8 crore on Day 1 a significantly lower number compared to the opening day collections of Gadar 2 which had crossed Rs. 40 crore. Now, Sunny Deol’s film stands at Rs.78.65 after 2 weeks at the Box Office.
