New Delhi: Ranveer Singh is in trouble ever since his nude photoshoot surfaced on the internet. Yesterday a complaint was lodged against the Ramleela actor by a NGO for the same. Amid polarized views on the matter, now filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma has spoken up for Ranveer.
In a latest interview, Ram Gopal Verma said that he feels it is a great example of gender equality. Talking to ETimes, he said, “If women can show off their sexy bodies why can’t men? It’s hypocritical that men are judged by a different standard. Men should have as many equal rights as women. I think India is finally coming of age and I think this is Ranveer’s statement on gender equality.”
Not only the veteran filmmaker, but celebs like Alia to Ranveer’s dear friend Arjun Kapoor came up in support. While Alia said that she would not like to hear anything negative about her favourite Ranveer.
Arjun on the oter hand responded saying, “When he comes in, there’s warmth, there’s enjoyment, there’s energy. Woh unki personality ka extension hain. Unki marzi hain, unka social media. Unhe sahi lagta hain iss waqt to be in that way that he wants to be. He wants to celebrate being comfortable in his own skin. I think we should respect that. Having an opinion is fair. I think trolls ko importance deni hi nahi chahiye zindagi mein because Kuch toh log kahenge, unka kaam hain kehna. Aapko jo theek lagta hain, aapko karna chahiye.”
Ranveer Singh is hitting the headlines ever since his nude photo shoot with Paper Magazine went viral over social media. His recent photoshoot was a tribute to the 70s’ pop icon Burt Reynolds.
