New Delhi: Bhumi Pednekar is always setting a niche for herself in terms of choosing her characters, breaking stereotypes, and being opinionative. Recently in an interview, she was asked about her idea of an ideal man.
Bhumi told ETimes that the idea she had when she was young, will put a lot of pressure on the man she is with. “I had an idea of an ideal man when I was younger. But now, all that really doesn’t matter to me anymore. I think that will put too much pressure on the man that I am with. The idea is that we both evolve with time and age.”
Also sharing her thoughts in spreading body positivity Bhumi said, “I feel times have really changed. Fat-shaming and body-shaming are things of the past and people who are still doing that need to be called out. We have so many beautiful examples. Women today celebrate who they are and I am definitely one of them. I care about being fit and healthy and don’t necessarily care about my weight. I transform as my character requires. I believe that body positivity starts with loving yourself first. That is very important.”
On the work front, Bhumi was last seen in ‘Badhai Do’ alongside Rajkummar Rao. Her next film ‘Raksha Bandhan’ will be out on August 11. It will see a box office clash with Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chadha’. Bhumi has also been shooting for another film ‘Afwah’ where she will be seen playing the lead character alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
The actor also has Ajay Bahl’s ‘The Lady Killer’, a suspense drama, which revolves around a small town playboy who falls in love with a self-destructive beauty as they embark on a whirlwind romance.
