The recent security measures come after Salman Khan has been facing ongoing death threats, primarily from the infamous gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. In April 2024, gunshots were fired outside his residence in Mumbai’s Bandra area. Anmol Bishnoi, the gangster’s brother, later claimed responsibility for the shooting in a Facebook post. Shortly after, a message from the Bishnoi gang was received by the Mumbai Traffic Police, demanding a ransom of Rs 5 crore for Salman’s “forgiveness,” with threats of a fate “worse than Baba Siddique.”
In response to these alarming incidents, Salman Khan’s security was immediately upgraded. In October 2024, he purchased a bulletproof Nissan Patrol SUV, valued at Rs 2 crore, imported from Dubai for added protection. Additional safety measures were also implemented around the Bigg Boss 18 sets in Mumbai’s Film City. To further enhance security, Salman’s team was reinforced with eight to ten armed officers, and a special command center was set up at his residence by the Mumbai Police.
