Streaming platforms have started invested heavily in original content which results in actors’ fees skyrocketed to make OTT an attractive space for A-list talent.

Now, on this platform Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn has set a new benchmark in the digital world. Reports suggest that he earned a around Rs. 125 crore for his debut OTT series titled Rudra: The Edge of Darkness. This means he charged approximately Rs. 18 crore per episode which is the highest ever for an Indian OTT show.
Ajay Devgan’s fees has even exceeded the paychecks of leading Bollywood stars for theatrical films. Reports indicate that Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan charged between Rs. 90-100 crore for their films like Raees and Bharat. But now, as Ajay has charged this much from OTT show, he is the highest-paid actor in the streaming industry.
His deal with Disney+ Hotstar also included extensive promotions across the Star Network, including reality show appearances, social media campaigns, and promotional shoots.

While Ajay Devgan holds the record, other Bollywood stars are also making their name in the OTT space.
- Saif Ali Khan reportedly earned Rs. 15-20 crore for Sacred Games 2.
- Varun Dhawan secured Rs. 12-15 crore for Citadel: Honey Bunny.
- Pankaj Tripathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Ali Fazal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu are also among the highest-paid digital actors, earning Rs. 5-10 crore per series.
