In a major relief for YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia aka BeerBiceps, the Supreme Court has ordered the release of his passport. This development follows months of restrictions during which Allahbadia was banned from leaving the country after controversial remarks he made during Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent.
The court has permitted Allahbadia to file an application with the Maharashtra Cyber Crime Bureau for the release of his passport, allowing him to travel abroad. The bench of Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh extended the relief for the Youtuber after the Assam and Maharashtra governments informed the court that investigations against Allahbadia in the India’s Got Latest case were complete, as reported by PTI.
During the same hearing, the Supreme Court also scheduled a new petition for May 5, against Samay Raina. The petition is filed by the SMA Cure Foundation for allegedly making fun of disabled people during the show.

Allahbadia’s advocate Abhinav Chandrachud also requested consolidation of multiple FIRs filed against the YouTuber over his comments on Raina’s show, which the court agreed to consider at the next hearing.
About The Controversy:
YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani and social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija appeared on India’s Got Latent as guests. The backlash was caused due to Ranveer’s question for one contestant as he said, “Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life. Or would you join in once and stop it forever?” The uproar was also caused due to Apoorva’s comments on the show.
These comments caused huge backlash, which led to many people demanding ban of India’s Got Latent and Ranveer’s podcasts. The controversy escalated when the complaint were also filed with the Mumbai Commissioner and Maharashtra Women’s Commission for allegedly using abusive language on the show.
Ranveer later apologised for statements meanwhile, Samay Raina deleted all the episodes of India’s Got Latent. During a hearing on March 3, Ranveer was permitted by the court to continue streaming his podcast ‘The Ranveer Show’ while maintaining ‘morality and decency’.
