Imtiaz Ali On Jab We Met Sequal
In a recent interview with PTI, Imtiaz Ali, director ‘Jab We Met’ has addressed the buzz surrounding the possible sequel. He told how people have been approaching him for Jab We Met ever since the viral reunion between Shahid and Kareena.
However, Imtiaz expressed that both the actors and the audience have moved on from the film. “Shahid has said that he thinks that I have moved on, but I think that everybody has moved on. It’s been a long time since Jab We Met,” director said.
On addressing the speculation and excitement about the possible sequel Imtiaz made it clear that he did not see the need to revisit the story with a sequel. He believes that the magic of Jab We Met lies in its originality and should be left unmodified. “I think we should savour that, and we should not spoil it by coming up with a sequel at all,” he remarked, emphasising the importance of preserving the original film’s charm.

The film was originally released on 26th October 2007, which tells a love story of a heart broken business tycoon ‘Aditya Kashyap’ and a bubbly fun-loving Punjabi girl ‘Geet Dhillon’, who was initially going to elope with her lover, Anshuman but both ends up falling for each other.
