The film is the untold true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra at just 21 — honoured posthumously for his unmatched courage and sacrifice during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

While speaking to PTI, director Sriram Raghavan talked about the plot of ‘Ikkis’. He shared, “It is a bigger production; there will be tank battles and all those things that happen in a war film. But it is also a human story; it’s a drama, a coming-of-age kind of a thing.”
Apart from Agastya, the movie also stars Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia.
