Dhanush’s fourth film as a director, ‘Idli Kadai’, is set to release on October 1, 2025, with audiences eagerly awaiting it. Although ticket bookings started off slow, early promotions and a “Buy One Get One Free” offer have helped pick up momentum.
Dhanush hit the big screens earlier this year with Kuberaa, which had high expectations and a strong opening. However, mixed reviews caused its success to drop quickly.
With Pawan Kalyan’s OG dominating the box office, Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1, and Bollywood’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor releasing the next day, i.e on October 2, 2025 the big question remains – how much will Dhanush’s film manage to open on its first day?
Idli Kadai box office prediction day 1
Idli Kadai has grossed approximately Rs 2.28 crore in advance bookings across India from 4,236 shows. In Tamil, the 2D version earned around Rs 2.11 crore from 130,986 tickets sold across 3,417 shows, with an average ticket price of Rs 173. The Telugu 2D version collected Rs 17.29 lakh from 14,066 tickets across 819 shows, with an average ticket price of Rs 139. With block bookings included, the total advance gross has reached Rs 4.8 crore.
Industry insiders predict the film could collect around Rs 7-8 crore on opening day, with the Ayudha Puja holiday expected to further drive box office numbers.
