The much-anticipated film ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire,’ starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran and directed by KGF director Prashanth Neel, is scheduled to hit theaters in a few days on December 22. It is expected to be larger in scale compared to Neel’s previous works.
Discussing their film, the director along with both lead actors were seen in an interview with the legendary director SS Rajamouli, where they touched upon various aspects of their project. In the course of the conversation, Prashanth Neel mentioned that ‘Salaar’ has received an A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The director said, “I was very disappointed, I sat in front of her for 20min. I know that I have not made a vulgar movie or a movie that is insensible with violence. It is all necessary violence.”
Prashanth Neel recollected that the certification board had requested specific edits in the film, but he chose not to make those cuts as it would have significantly changed the overall viewing experience. Additionally, he highlighted his continuous effort to improve his films, acknowledging that, in comparison to other Telugu films, he considered his works to be somewhat lacking. This, combined with new regulations from the censor board, resulted in the A certification. Neel further shared that when he informed Prabhas about this decision, the Rebel Star supported it, suggesting that the film might benefit from it.
The director emphasized the increased dedication and effort he invested in creating “Salaar,” stating that it surpassed even the level of commitment he had for “KGF.” He underscored that the narrative of ‘Salaar’ centers around the emotions and bonds shared between two friends. Additionally, he clarified that his goal was not to produce a film solely focused on violence but rather to craft a dramatic narrative set within a world characterized by violence.
‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire,’ starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran as the leads, boasts an ensemble cast that includes prominent actors such as Tinnu Anand, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Eeswari Rao, Sriya Reddy, Mime Gopi, John Vijay, and others in pivotal roles. Adding to the list, Simrat Kaur, renowned for her role in ‘Gadar 2,’ is also set to make an appearance in the film.
