‘I Don’t Consider These Terrorists Muslims’: Aamir Khan Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack

Aamir Khan calls the Pahalgam terror attack “cruel and cowardly,” says no true Muslim would harm innocents.

Aamir Khan addressed the backlash regarding the delay in his public reaction to the Pahalgam terror attack that occurred on April 22, claiming several innocent lives. Speaking to India TV, the actor opened up about the emotional impact of the tragedy and clarified why his statement came later than others in the industry.

Calling the incident “cruel” and “cowardly,” Aamir condemned the perpetrators, saying, The terror attack was cruel. It only demonstrates the terrorists’ cowardice that they entered our country and fired bullets on common men. You or I could’ve also been there. They asked their religion and then fired bullets. What does that mean?”

He emphasized that the lack of an immediate social media post should not be mistaken for indifference. “I’m not on social media. People react instantly to these events there,” he said.

He also acknowledged India’s military response through Operation Sindoor, stating, “That was an attack not only on our nation, but also on our unity. They’ve already got a befitting response from our country,”

Khan further stated that such terrorists cannot be called Muslims, “No religion asks you to kill people. I don’t consider these terrorists Muslims because it’s written in Islam that you can’t kill any innocent human, can’t strike a woman or a child. They’re going against the religion by doing what they are doing.”

His upcoming film is now facing an unexpected hurdle. According to reports, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has asked for two cuts in the film, which Aamir has refused to implement, citing the creative integrity of the project and Aamir is expected to meet the CBFC Examining Committee in an effort to resolve the issue.

Directed by R.S. Prasanna, it also stars Genelia Deshmukh, it is a remake of Spanish film Champions (2018). It is set to hit the theaters on June 20, 2025.
