The highly anticipated drama Homebound, starring Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor, has finally hit Indian cinemas. Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and produced under the Dharma Productions banner, the film has already garnered international acclaim, having been showcased at major festivals including Cannes 2025 and the Toronto International Film Festival.
With Pawan Kalyan’s OG having released just a day ago and currently dominating the internet, the big question now is: how will Homebound perform at the box office?

Industry insiders predict a modest opening in India, with the film expected to collect around Rs 0.75 crore to 1.25 crore on day one. The film hasn’t had much promotion, with fewer events and star appearances, so its early buzz might be lower compared to bigger commercial releases.
Despite its international acclaim and positive word of mouth, the film’s opening will likely be overshadowed by OG’s dominance at the box office. Pawan Kalyan’s OG has opened with a strong performance, raking in approximately Rs 21 crore on early preview, followed by Rs 63.75 crore on day 1 and Rs 19.24 crore on daty 2, taking its total to around Rs 103.99 crore in the first three days.
Homebound might not have a huge opening, but its strong story and international praise could help it do well over time.

The film is about two childhood friends from a small village in North India who want to become police officers to earn respect and dignity. As they get closer to achieving their dream, challenges arise that put their friendship and decisions to the test.
