The highly anticipated drama Homebound, starring Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor, has finally hit Indian cinemas. Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and produced under the Dharma Productions banner, the film has already garnered international acclaim, having been showcased at major festivals including Cannes 2025 and the Toronto International Film Festival.
The movie has received an amazing response in several film festivals worldwide, with praise for its storyline, performances and direction. Despite receiving a stellar response, ‘Homebound’ has a low opening at the box office.
Homebound box office collection day 2:
Homebound opened to a modest response at the box office. On Day 1 (Friday), the film earned Rs 0.30 crore. It picked up slightly on Day 2 (Saturday) with collections of around Rs 0.50 crore, as per early estimates. This brought the film’s total to Rs 0.80 crore in two days.
The film faces tough competition from Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG, which is ruling the charts with Rs 122 crore in four days, with Rs 21 crore coming from its premiere.
About Homebound
The film is about two childhood friends from a small village in North India who want to become police officers to earn respect and dignity. As they get closer to achieving their dream, challenges arise that put their friendship and decisions to the test. Director Neeraj Ghaywan says it’s a heartfelt story about friendship, survival, and the strength of people who are often ignored by society.
The film recently received a nine minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival 2025.
