New Delhi: Jenna Ortega is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The outstanding actress has gained media notice for her comments about the writing of her popular show.
Jenna Ortega, who played the title character Wednesday Addams stated that she contributed to the show’s screenplay. However, Ortega’s remarks did not sit well with Hollywood writers, and the actress is now facing widespread online backlash.
Jenna Ortega’s remarks about “helping in improving the writing” of the show clearly upset many well-known Hollywood authors. They insulted the actress on their official social media accounts.
Hollywood writers lash out at Jenna Ortega
“Jenna Ortega better be back from New York for her afternoon shift on the picket line,” wrote writer Nick Adams. He is best known for his work in BoJack Horseman.
Karen Joseph, the writer of The Bear, tweeted: “Rewriting is writing! See you at the line, Jenna.”
For the uninitiated, the Wednesday actress last month appeared in one of the episodes of the Armchair Podcast and said, “There were times on that set where I almost became unprofessional in a sense, where I just started changing lines. The script supervisor thought that I was like, going with something, and then I would have to sit down with the writers and they would be like, ‘Wait, what happened to this scene?’ And I would have to go through and explain why I couldn’t do certain things.”
She added, “I don’t think I’ve ever had to put my foot down on a set in the way that I had to on Wednesday. Everything that she does, everything that I had to play, did not make sense for her character at all. Her being in a love triangle made no sense. There was a line about a dress that she has to wear for a school dance and she said, ‘Oh my God, I love it. Ugh, I can’t believe I said that.”
