Kantara: Chapter 1
Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 has taken the box office by storm. It is currently the second highest grossing Kannada film of all time, highest grossing Indian film of 2025 and also ranks among highest grossing Indian films of all time.
The mythological action film was released on October 2 and by the end of its third weekend, the film had earned over Rs 730 crore at the box office. By the start of the fourth weekend, its earnings had climbed to Rs 850 crore.
Chhava
Chhaava is a Hindi epic historical action film based on the life of Sambhaji, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire, played by Vicky Kaushal. The cast also features Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna.
Chhaava was released in theatres on 14 February 2025 and it commercially, it earned between Rs 797 crore and Rs 809 crore, making it the second highest grossing Indian film of 2025 and the top grossing Hindi film of the year.
Saiyaara
Saiyaara is a musical romantic drama directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films. It stars debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda as a singer songwriter duo who fall in love.
Saiyaara became a massive box office success, earning around Rs 409 crore in India and Rs 170 crore overseas, with a total worldwide collection of Rs 579 crore.
Coolie
Coolie is an action thriller film written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. The movie features a star studded cast including Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Rachita Ram, with special appearances by Aamir Khan and Pooja Hegde.
By the end of its theatrical run on 10 September 2025, the film had earned between Rs 514 crore and Rs 675 crore worldwide.
War 2
War 2 is an action thriller directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. It marks the sixth instalment in the YRF Spy Universe and serves as a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War.
The film stars Hrithik Roshan, N. T. Rama Rao Jr. (in his Hindi debut), and Kiara Advani, with Ashutosh Rana and Anil Kapoor in key roles. By the end of its theatrical run, War 2 had reportedly earned between Rs 303 crore and Rs 351 crore worldwide.
Other films featured in the top 10 highest grossing Indian films of 2025 include Mahavatar Narasimha (Rs 268 crore), They Call Him OG ( Rs 219 crore), Sankranthiki Vasthunam (Rs 217 crore), Raid 2 (Rs 201 crore) and Sitaare Zameen Par (Rs 199 crore), a heartfelt social drama that won over both critics and viewers.
