Bruckheimer mentioned his desire for Johnny Depp involvements in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ reboot, highlighting Depp’s integral role in creating the iconic character, Captain Jack Sparrow. According to Bruckheimer, Depp’s portrayal of Sparrow was instrumental in the success of the franchise.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bruckheimer emphasized Depp’s contribution to the ‘Pirates’ series, crediting him for bringing Captain Jack Sparrow to life. He praised Depp’s unique interpretation of the character, citing influences from Pepé Le Pew and Keith Richards in creating Sparrow’s persona. Bruckheimer expressed admiration for Depp’s talent and friendship, underscoring his preference for Depp’s participation in the reboot.

Depp’s portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow captivated audiences worldwide across five films released between 2003 and 2017. The character’s eccentricity and charm became synonymous with the franchise’s success, with Depp receiving acclaim for his performance.

Following his role as Jeanne du Barry in 2023, Depp has been seeking opportunities to return to the big screen. However, there have been no announcements regarding his upcoming projects since then, indicating a potential hiatus in his film career.
