HBO has now announced the new actors who will play Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. The actors Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton and Alastair Stout will bring Harry, Hermione and Ron to life in the new series.
In an Instagram post, HBO wrote “Dear Mr. Potter, Miss Granger, and Mr. Weasley: We are pleased to inform you that you have a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Please welcome Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley to the HBO Original Series Harry Potter.”
In a move that has left fans surprised, HBO turned off the comments section on Instagram after revealing the new cast of its upcoming Harry Potter series.
Harry Potter remains one of the most popular film series everywhere. It was hard for some to accept a new cast when global stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint from the original series were involved, which is the reported reason that made HBO to shut the comment section.
Although HBO turned off comments on Instagram, fans still expressed their thoughts on other platforms. On X, JK Rowling, the author of Harry Potter, also responded to the casting. She said she was very happy with the new trio and called them “wonderful.” Replying to a fan’s tweet, she wrote, “All three are wonderful. I couldn’t be happier.”
All three are wonderful. I couldn't be happier.

Where as another user posted a picture of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint and wrote “I miss them.” Anotheradded, “Wish the kids luck. They’re about to be under a microscope the rest of their lives.” One person thought, “HBO is killing it so far outside of that atrocious Snape casting.” Another wrote, “So happy for them.”
