Haryana Based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra Arrested For Allegedly Spying For Pakistan; Visited Country In 2023

Indian YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra is among the six people who have been arrested for allegedly passing sensitive information to Pakistani operatives.

Jyoti Malhotra, who is a Haryana based YouTuber and travel blogger, has been arrested for allegedly passing sensitive information to Pakistani operatives. She is among the six people, who have been arrested in this case. According to the authorities, Jyoti visited Pakistan in 2023 after acquiring a visa through commission agents.

She reportedly developed a close bond with Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a staff member at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. Danish allegedly introduced the YouTuber to multiple Pakistani Intelligence Operatives (PIOs). For the unversed, Danish has been declared persona non grata by the government and expelled on May 13, 2025.

She has been charged under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923.

She allegedly was in contact with the operation via WhatsApp, Telegram, and Snapchat, and shared sensitive information concerning Indian locations. According to the authorities, she was also in an intimate relationship with a PIO and used her social media page to showcase a positive image of Pakistan.

Jyoti has over 132k followers on Instagram, where she posts her travel vlogs. She last posted about her trip to Pakistan in a few weeks before Pahalgam terror attack. Meanwhile, her YouTube channel ‘Travel with Jo’ has over 300k subscribers.

This comes amid the rising tensions between India and Pakistan after the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22.

Later, on May 7, Operation Sindoor was launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 Indians. The situation was constantly monitored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi throughout the night, as per sources. All nine targets were successfully struck, sources further added. Indian forces selected the targets with the intent of eliminating top Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leaders involved in planning and executing terrorist attacks in India.
