The fifth (and maybe final) installment of one of cinema’s most iconic franchises, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Following the film’s screening at Cannes, Harrison earned a five-minute standing ovation from the audience. At the film festival, he was also awarded an honorary Palme d’Or.

Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones 5 received a hero’s farewell at the Cannes Film Festival! When Harrison Ford’s final picture as Indiana Jones, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, opened at Cannes, his emotions were out of control. When the credits rolled, he received a five-minute standing ovation from the audience. Thierry Frémaux, the director of the Cannes Film Festival, also honoured him with an honorary Palme d’Or.
Before the curtain rose and some selected viewers got a first peek at Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny, the experienced leading man came near to tears several times. Ford was caught away by the moment’s raw emotion as a montage of his greatest successes, including Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and The Fugitive, played on the screen prior to the Dial Of Destiny launch.
After the actors and director were revealed, the audience gave Ford a five-minute standing ovation before he unexpectedly earned the Palme d’Or, the highest accolade given at the Cannes International Film Festival.
