New Delhi: Veteran actor Sharat Saxen turns 71st today. He is known for performing villainous roles in films in the late ‘70s and ‘80. Sharat is also well-known for his character of Kichaka in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat television series. On his birthday, let’s recall five movies in which he nailed it.
Mr India (1987)
In Shekhar Kapoor’s Mr India Saxena played the role of Daga, one of the henchmen of villain Mogambo. His character gave too much laughter to the audience.
Ghulam (1998)
In this film, he portrayed the role of a former boxing champion who turned into a gangster. For this film, he received a Filmfare Awards nomination.
Soldier (1998)
In the box hit film, Sharat Saxen played the role of Baldev Sinha, an illegal arms dealer. The film also stars Bobby Deol, Kajol and Preity Zinta in pivotal roles.
Krrish (2006)
In this film, he portrayed the role of Dr Vikram Sinha, a scientist and a friend to Rohit Mehra, who encouraged him to create a computer that can see future events.
Sherni (2021)
Sharat Saxen plays the role of Ranjan “Pintu” Rajhans, who was hired to kill a rogue tigress. The film also cast Bollywood star, Vidya Balan.
