It is said that he always acted in films on his terms.
His real name
Rajkumar got this name after coming to Bollywood. His real name was ‘Kulbhushan Pandit’ and people fondly called him ‘Jani’. Before joining films, he was a sub-inspector at Mahim police station in Mumbai. Once during a patrol, a soldier told him that, you have a style and you look like a hero in appearance and stature. He further said, ‘If you become a hero, then you can dominate.’ This was the moment he decided to pursue his career in cinema.

Career
Rajkumar was sitting in the police station and filmmaker Baldev Dubey reached there for some work and he became crazy about Rajkumar’s style. Baldev Dubey was working on the film ‘Shahi Bazaar’ at that time and he offered the film to Rajkumar. It is said that even if his films flopped, he used to increase his fees and the makers also accepted his condition to take him in films.
Fees used to increase even on flop films
In the interview, Rajkumar said, ‘He does full justice to his character.’ He also revealed that ‘Films can flop but I am not.’ Many of his films were quite hits but there some were flops. Rajkumar had dialogue from the film Pakija, in which he says, ‘You see your feet, they are very beautiful, don’t keep them on the ground, they will become malleable’. It proved to be a super hit.
