Gossip surrounding Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious project, Baiju Bawra, has the fans on the edge of their seats. Guess who is all set to play the lead in the flick alongside Ranveer Singh? After basking in the success of her Bollywood debut film alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Jawan, Nayanthara is all set for her second outing in Bollywood.
As per TOI’s reports, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the master craftsman approached the actress to play a pivotal role in Baiju Bawra. Besides Ranveer Singh, who will be seen in the titular role in the film, the musical period drama will also feature National award-winner Alia Bhatt as the female lead. Here’s some good news for all Alia Bhatt fans, the lady superstar of the South cinema will not replace her. If reports are to be believed then Nayanthara will be sharing the screenspace with Alia.
The report further states that while other makes of Baiju Bawra are swamped working on the details, Nayanthara hasn’t signed the dotted line, yet. Furthermore, Nayanthara and her husband, director Vignesh Shivan met Sanjay Leela Bhansali in March 2023, to talk about the possibilities of their probable collaboration.
Despite countless speculations surrounding Baiju Bawra, SLB has kept the curious fans, well, curious. The filmmaker has decided to neither approve nor disapprove of any rumours.
Talking of SLB’s ambitious period saga, Baiju Bawra will depict the story of a famed singer. Even though the release date hasn’t been decided, the film is scheduled to go on floors in early 2024.
