While speaking at the trailer launch event of Ground Zero, Emraan talked about the importance of BSF officer Narendra Nath Dubey’s real life operation after the 2001 Parliament Attack in India. He shared, “The story of the sacrifices of these BSF officers and this particular mission/operation’s importance from the phase of 2000-2003 is that Jaish-E-Mohammed’s whole infrastructure was destabilised by it.”
He added, “For 13 years, this organisation didn’t plan a terrorist attack on Indian soil because of this operation. Not too many people know about that. So that is the importance of this operation, and that’s why it’s a story that was waiting to be told. It is better late than never.”
Directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, the movie is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner Excel Entertainment. The story, screenplay and dialogue is done by Sanchit Gupta & Priyadarshee Srivastava.
Ground Zero will release in theatres on April 25, 2025.
