Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, have been at the centre of separation rumours for some time. Addressing the speculation, Govinda’s sister, Kamini Khanna, has now spoken out, sharing her perspective on the matter.
In an interaction with IANS, Kamini admitted that she had limited knowledge about the couple’s situation due to their busy schedules. She stated, “No, I don’t know much. I stay very busy, and they are very busy too. We meet very rarely, so I don’t know much. I don’t want to say too much on this topic because both families are involved, and I have a lot of love for both.”
Strong Family Bonds Amid Rumours
Kamini further explained her close relationship with Sunita, calling it deeply rooted in mutual support and friendship. She said, “Our parents are no longer with us, so we are like parents to each other. And we are also very good friends.”
While she is aware of the media speculation, Kamini believes that personal matters like these should be dealt with privately within the family. She emphasised the importance of respecting Sunita and Govinda’s privacy, particularly on such sensitive topics.

Sunita Ahuja On Divorce Claims
Amid reports that Sunita had issued a separation notice six months ago, the couple’s lawyer clarified that they had resolved their differences and remained together. Sunita also addressed the rumours, explaining that while they currently live separately, it is due to Govinda’s political commitments and frequent gatherings at his bungalow. She resides in their flat with their children.
Dismissing the divorce speculation, Sunita reaffirmed her strong bond with Govinda, stating that no one could separate them after 37 years of marriage.
Govinda and Sunita’s Journey Together
For those unfamiliar, Govinda and Sunita tied the knot on March 11, 1987, after dating for three years. They welcomed their daughter, Tina, in 1988, followed by their son, Yashvardhan. Despite the recent rumours, the couple continues to stand strong together.
