If you are a Govinda fan, you must have watched his iconic movie Hero No. 1, also starring Karishma Kapoor. In the movie, Rajesh (Govinda) falls in love with Meena (Karishma) and decides to get married. However, things go haywire when Mena’s family rejects the proposal, leading to Rajesh coming up with a twisted plan. An otherwise wealthy businessman disguised himself as Raju- The servant to live in Meena’s house and win everyone’s heart.
Would you ever go to this length to achieve something? Well, one of Govinda’s fans did that in order to stay close to her favourite star.
The revelation was made by Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja, who during Timeout with Ankit podcast, shared that the fan managed to deceive everyone and stay within the house for 20 days as a maid. “There was a fan who disguised herself as a househelp She did not look like one and was unable to do dishes. I even told my mother-in-law about this, and was going crazy to know more about her. Eventually, we got to know she was some minister’s daughter and a Govinda fan. The girl used to stay up for Govinda. I am just glad that nothing major happened during this time.”
When Sunita questioned the girl, she broke down in tears and confessed that “she was a huge fan of Govinda.” She added, “Then her father came and brought four cars filled with politicians with him. I think she worked with us for about 20 days. This is the kind of fan following he had. This is the type of fans he had. I was very young then… and there were times when we used to go to international tours where I saw female fans faint at the sight of him.”
Netizens React!
The story left netizens in split who posted hilarious comments. One of them wrote, “She used his movie plot against him”, another posted, “Kaash main bhi aise Salman sir ke ghar reh saku”. One user shared, “bro took Govinda’s role too seriously.”
