Amid ongoing speculation, Govinda addressed the rumours. Speaking to ETimes, he dismissed the rumours, stating, “These are only business talks going on… I am in the process of starting my films.”
Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, also addressed the reports, acknowledging some family tensions. He revealed, “There have been issues between the couple due to certain statements made by some family members. But there is nothing more to it. Govinda is focused on starting a film, and we are working on resolving the matter.”

However, the actor’s lawyer clarified that the couple is “going strong”. Lalit Bindal, who is also a family friend of Govinda, told India Today that Sunita had filed for divorce about six months ago. However, they worked things out and are now back together. Bindal shared that the couple even went to Nepal during the New Year and prayed together at Pashupati Nath Mandir. “Everything is fine between them now. Such things happen in relationships, but they are doing well and will always be together,” he added.
Bindal also denied rumours that Govinda and Sunita live in separate apartments. He explained that Govinda bought a bungalow after becoming an MP for official purposes, and it is just across from the flat they have lived in since their marriage. He said that sometimes Govinda has meetings or stays in the bungalow, but they still live together.
