Squid Game Season 3: Gong Yoo, the talented actor who played the charismatic salesman in Squid Game, quickly became a fan favourite after the first season’s release. His role was expanded in the second season, thanks to the overwhelming response he received. However, fans were shocked and disappointed when his character seemingly met his death in the first episode of season 2.
Although death is a staple of this Netflix Korean thriller, Gong Yoo’s exit was unexpected and left fans stunned. But, as we all know, Squid Game is full of surprises. The latest buzz circulating on social media suggests that Gong Yoo’s character might not be dead after all.
The Viral Video Reveals The Secret
A viral video clip appears to show Gong Yoo’s character lying on a couch, seemingly lifeless, while Ji-hun interacts with one of his associates. However, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Gong Yoo’s character briefly opens his eyes before closing them again. While it’s possible that this was just a mistake on the actor’s part, fans are convinced that it was intentional and that Gong Yoo will make a comeback in Squid Game 3.
Given the immense love and popularity Gong Yoo has received, it’s unlikely that the makers would eliminate him completely from the show. Fans are eagerly waiting to see how the makers will bring him back into the game.
We’ll have to wait for an official confirmation from the makers or until the release of season 3 in 2025 to find out what’s in store for Gong Yoo’s character.
