The world of fashion lost a legendary personality, Giorgio Armani. He passed away on September 4, 2025, at the age of 91. He created a business empire of reportedly around 9 to 12 billion USD and was considered one of the biggest names in the fashion industry. After his demise, a big question has been raised about who will inherit his fortune and empire.
Who Will Be The Successor Of Giorgio Armani?
Although Armani did not officially reveal the name of his successor, it is reported that Leo Dell’Orco will take over the empire. Earlier, while talking about his plans of succession, Armani told Financial Times, “My plans for succession consist of a gradual transition of the responsibilities that I have always handled to those closest to me, such as Leo Dell’Orco, the members of my family and the entire working team.”
“I would like the succession to be organic and not a moment of rupture,” he added.
For the unversed, Leo Dell’Orco is the head of men’s design for the Armani group and was the figure behind Armani’s two menswear shows in Milan. He is said to be Armani’s successor and has been gradually taking on the responsibilities of the company for the past few years. He is also the chairman of the board for the Olimpia Milano basketball team, which is owned by Giorgio Armani.
