Gaurav Khanna rose to immense popularity after his appearance in the show ‘Anupamaa’, in which he essayed the role of Anuj Kapadia opposite Rupali Ganguly. However, the story of his character had hit a pause button and the possibility of his return in the show remained uncertain. In a recent interview, the actor talked about if he will be seen in Anupamaa again or not.
Talking about the future of Anuj in Anupamaa, Gaurav told Pinkvilla, “Anuj Kapadia, for me, is a comma; there’s no fullstop. Rajan Sir hasn’t killed the character. It’s just that there’s no space in the story for him. But it is Indian Television. Anyone can be alive and there are many examples. However, that doesn’t mean that I’m coming back to the show. But never say never.”
“It is one of my most cherished characters but I think every story has a texture,” he added.

In another interview with Siddharth Kanan, Gaurav Khanna talked about Manish Goel’s replacing him in Anupamaa. He said, “People thought he replaced me, but it’s not true. I’ve seen Manish’s work before; he’s a senior actor, and I respect him… woh tabse hain jab main bhi nahi tha, unke shows dekhte the mere gharpe jo Zee pe aata tha. Social media can be harsh, but that’s life as an actor. You have to take it in stride.”
For the unversed, Anupamaa had a 15 year time leap and it led to exit of several characters in the show.
Gaurav Khanna was earlier in the news after he won Celebrity MasterChef. Tejasswi Prakash, Faisal Shaikh, Nikki Tamboli and Rajiv Adatia were also in the finale. Meanwhile, popular names like Ayesha Jhulka, Abhijeet Sawant, Usha Nadkarni, Archana Gautam, Chandan Prabhakar, Kabita Singh and Dipika Kakar were the participants in Celebrity MasterChef.
Before getting immense fame in Anupamaa, Gaurav Khanna worked in several hit shows. He was seen in CID, Sasural Simar Ka, Tere Bin, Meri Doli Tere Angna, Jeevan Saathi, Gangaa, Kumkum and many more.
