Ram Charan and Kiara Advani’s Game Changer is struggling to hold its ground at the box office in its third week. After a promising start with Rs. 51 crore on its opening day, the political drama has witnessed a consistent decline. As of Day 16, the film has accumulated Rs. 129.34 crore net in India, as per Sacnilk.
Language-Wise Earnings Breakdown
The film’s performance has largely depended on its Telugu and Hindi versions. So far, Game Changer has earned Rs. 87.9 crore in Telugu and Rs. 32.57 crore in Hindi. The Tamil version, however, brought in a minimal Rs. 0.01 crore on Saturday, contributing to the overall Saturday earnings of Rs. 0.24 crore. The Malayalam and Kannada versions failed to surpass the Rs. 1 crore mark even after 16 days of release.
Globally, Game Changer has earned Rs. 184.17 crore by Day 16, including Rs. 30.25 crore from overseas markets. Despite these figures, the worldwide earnings fall significantly short of the Rs. 186 crore the makers claimed it achieved on its opening day.
Controversy Over Inflated Figures
The film’s box office performance has been overshadowed by allegations of inflated numbers. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma publicly criticized the claimed earnings in a series of tweets, calling them misleading and exaggerated.
Adding to the challenges, the Income Tax Department conducted raids on January 21 at multiple locations linked to Telugu film producer and Telangana Film Development Corporation chairman Dil Raju. The raids, which included properties in Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills, were reportedly tied to allegations of tax evasion, as reported by PTI.
Once expected to be a major blockbuster of 2025, Game Changer is grappling with declining collections and controversies, raising doubts about its long-term box office sustainability.
