Gadar Trailer: The re-release of classic movie “Gadar Ek Prem Katha,” Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel is ready to take you back in time. Sunny and Ameesha shared the announcement with their followers and supporters on Instagram on Thursday. On June 9, viewers can see the movie in theatres once more.

The makers have remastered the 4K edition of ‘Gadar’. “Wohi prem, wohi katha, par iss baar alag hoga ehsaas! #Gadar returns to the big screen on 9th June for a limited period in 4K and Dolby Atmos sound,” Sunny wrote on Instagram.

On Friday, the remastered version’s trailer will be released. When it was released in 2001, the romantic-action drama directed by Anil Sharma, starring Ameesha Patel, and set during the Partition of India, made box office history. The late Amrish Puri had a crucial part in the movie. The primary character of the movie is Tara Singh (played by Sunny), an Amritsar-based Sikh truck driver who falls in love with Sakina (played by Ameesha), a Muslim girl from a Pakistani political family in Lahore.

‘Gadar’ is being re-released just as the cast is planning a sequel. On August 11, 2023, “Gadar 2” and “Animal,” starring Ranbir Kapoor, will have a major confrontation. Anil Sharma is in charge. Utkarsh Sharma also plays the key role in “Gadar 2.” In the first instalment, Utkarsh portrayed Sunny and Ameesha’s son.

Sunny Deol’s statement

Sharing his excitement about the second part, Sunny earlier told the media outlet, “‘Gadar – Ek Prem Katha’ has been an eminent part of my life, personally as well as professionally. Tara Singh from Gadar isn’t just a protagonist but went on to become a cult icon that defied all odds and crossed all boundaries for his Family and Love. Collaborating with the team after, 22 years was a creatively enriching experience.”

About Gadar 

Anil Sharma’s Gadar Ek Prem Katha was one of the highest-grossing movies in Bollywood history at the time. It also featured Amrish Puri in a significant part in addition to Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel. Over twenty years after the hit original, Gadar 2 will be released. The sequel was filmed in a variety of places, including Lucknow. On the work front, Sunny will be seen with Ameesha Patel in Gadar 2 and Apne 2.
