Indian director Dinesh Vijan is working on the making of a biopic of the most eminent public prosecutor named Ujjwal Nikam, which underwent a sudden change. At first, it was said that Amir Khan was going to play the lead role, but now, reportedly, he has stepped away from the film. But this didn’t let the enthusiasm die in the people. As actor Rajkummar Rao will be the replacement for him. The makers of the movie are thinking of bringing a few changes to the story.
Aamir Exits, Rajkummar Rao In Talks For Lead Role
According to the report of Times Now, a source close to the project shared that, as for now, Vijan’s choice for the main role is Rajkummar Rao, as he is well known for his acting with strong feelings and has also done several different types of roles. “Dinesh is keen on having Rajkummar play Nikam. He brings the right intensity and range to the role,” said a source to Mid-Day.
Rajkummar has shown great performance while working with Maddock Films earlier and now he is promoting his new movie ‘Bhul Chuk Maaf’ within the same banner. Despite this, He has not officially said yes to the Ujjwal Nikam movie. “Preliminary talks have been positive, but Raj is immersed in prep for Vikramaditya Motwane’s next, which is a physically and emotionally demanding script since he plays a sportsman,” the source added further. “The dates will need to be worked out.”
Script To Take A New Turn With Rajkummar As Lead
As it is expected that Rajkummar will soon play the lead role, the director and team might bring some changes to the story. “It was always going to be a compelling courtroom drama with a political undercurrent,” the source explained to Mid-Day. “But now the team is exploring a grittier and more grounded treatment that fits Raj’s style more, if he comes on board,” the source added.
Who Is Ujjwal Nikam?
The movie revolves around the story of Ujjwal Nikam, who was a famous public prosecutor in India’s Legal history. He contributed to several big cases like the 1993 Bombay blasts and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
If Rajkummar agrees to do this movie, people can expect a remarkable and interesting story with his great acting skills. And truly, all fans are excited to see it!
