New Delhi: The Bollywood actor John Abraham is rumoured to be returning to the Dhoom series. Although Abraham had a significant part in the 2004 film Dhoom, he did not appear in any of the subsequent entries in the series. The first movie’s climax left room for interpretation as to whether Abraham’s character had perished or managed to flee. This ambiguity might be exploited to enable him to rejoin the franchise.
Abraham made waves with his performance in the Shah Rukh Khan movie Pathaan, and the public adored him. His performance as the film’s major antagonist was praised for being both cool and menacing.
Is John Abraham returning with Dhoom 4 or Jim’s sequel is in making?
Earlier, John has expressed his desire for producer Aditya Chopra, who is meticulously developing the Spy Universe, to bring Jim back and reveal his past. The actor has also expressed his respect for Aditya Chopra, and has said that he would love to go back to Dhoom.
The first two Dhoom films were among the greatest hits of all time, and the franchise has made a tonne of money at the box office. Since the release of Dhoom 3 in 2013, the franchise has been on break. Dhoom Reloaded (also known as Dhoom 4) was first announced by Yash Raj Films in 2015, but nothing else has been said about it since.
A source close to the development told Bollywood Humgama, “For the past couple of days there have been daily meetings at YRF and John has been seen attending these meetings on multiple occasions. If anything is finalized, it will be at one of these meets.”
On the whole, it will be interesting to see if John returns with Dhoom 4 or with Jim’s character expansion. Regardless of speculations, one thing can be assumed for sure- a Hrithik-John collaboration might come up handy for YRF.
