New Delhi: The much anticipated psychological thriller film ‘Freddy’ featuring Kartik Aaryan and Alaya F has released on Disney+Hotstar. The movie is streaming in the OTT platform from December 2. Helmed by Shashank Ghosh, the film is produced by Ekta Kapoor and Jay Shewakramani.

Talking about the plot of the film, Kartik Aaryan as a dentist Freddy Ginwala is in search of his soul mate. After many rejections, an introvert Freddy finds his true love in Kainaaz Irani (Alaya F), but his love life soon becomes as painfull as root canal.

Freddy Plot

The movie begins with Freddy Ginwala waiting in a restaurant to meet a girl he met on a matrimonial site but is soon rejected because of his nerd and introvert nature. Freddy has no friends except his pet Hardy, a turtle. Although he faced many rejections, his hope is still intact.

He finally meets his dreamgirl Kainaaz in a wedding and falls for her at the first sight only to know that she is married. But he keeps on stalking her and found that her marriage is an abusive one. As the story unfolds, Freddy approaches Kainaaz and asks her to get out of her toxic marriage. Slowly their friendship turns into love and they decide to kill her husband. Freddy does so. Later finds out that Kainaaz was actually using him to kill her husband so that she could reunite with her boyfriend. What unfolds next, is the real hook of the story.

Kartik Aaryan’s character

By far, it is one of the best performances by Kartik Aaryan. His portrayal of an introvert, nerd Freddy was bang on. The actor justified the various emotional and psychological renditions required in each segment of the story. Kartik’s graph from a commoner to a psycho killer was excellent.

The story line was good enough although can’t be called execellent. The first part seemed predictable, while the twist that follows is the hook of the story. The background scrore was apt and goofy. Overall, the movie is a good-to-go movie to watch for.
