Sanoj Mishra, director of The Diary of West Bengal is at the centre of a serious controversy after being accused of rape by a woman from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. The woman has alleged that Sanoj has drugged and sexually assaulted her and later using her obscene photos and videos to blackmail her.
Due to this complaint, he was arrested and is currently in Delhi’s Tihar Jail.
Contacted Via Social Media, Lured To Resort
According to the 28-year-old, she first connected with Sanoj Mishra in 2020 through ex-social media channel TikTok and Instagram. She further claimed Sanoj threatened to commit suicide if she refused to meet him and on 18 June 2021, he allegedly took her to a resort, drugged her and assaulted her.
Sanoj recently offered a film role to actress Monalisa, who had recently gone viral during the Mahakumbh.

Claims Of Threats And Extortion In Jail
Now as he is behind bars, he has written a complaint saying that he is receiving death threats and being feared by other inmates. The letter is addressed to the Director General of Tihar Jail and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta urging immediate intervention.
The complaint also states that criminal-minded inmates are mentally pressuring Sanoj and demanding large sums of money each week. Now, Sanoj fears that if he fails to pay, his life could be at risk.
These allegations have raised serious concerns about security and the functioning of Tihar Jail. Lawyer AP Singh has accused the jail authorities of negligence, saying a criminal network is active inside the prison.
