Ranbir Kapoor’s Rockstar was re-released after 13 years after its original release in 2011. Under the direction of Imtiaz Ali, the film was a major box office hit and remains one of Ranbir’s most celebrated performances.
Now, for the Rockstar’s fans, there is a good news, as filmmaker Imtiaz has hinted at the possibility of a sequel.

During Komal Nahta’s Game Changer podcast, Imtiaz Ali spoke about the potential for sequel Rockstar. He said, “Never say never. It is possible that an idea might come to me, and I feel that this story, as Rockstar Part 2 or a Rockstar thought, might be nice. Sometimes, a wild thought about Rockstar might come up.

How Ranbir Kapoor Got Cast In Rockstar
In a interview, Imtiaz had also shared an interesting anecdote about how Ranbir Kapoor landed up in the role of Jordan.
He revealed that he had actually lost the original Rockstar script and had to rewrite it. Ranbir, who had heard about the film from a friend, reminded Imtiaz of the whole story during one of their meetings. As Ranbir described the plot of Rockstar, Imtiaz realised that he was the perfect choice for the role.
About Rockstar
The film was originally released in 2011, it featured Ranbir Kapoor alongside Nargis Fakhri, Aditi Rao Hydari, Piyush Mishra, Kumud Mishra, Shernaz Patel, and the late Shammi Kapoor. The film, known for its soulful music by A.R. Rahman, became a cult classic over the years.
