In 2011, this lady superstar changed her religion from Christianity to Hinduism and became Nayantara. Born into a Malayali Christian family, Nayantara’s original name was Diana Mariam Kurian. She adopted Hinduism at the Arya Samaj temple in Chennai, leaving behind her Christian faith. Since then, Nayantara has been her stage name and official identity.

In 2012, Nayantara completely ended her relationship with Prabhu Deva.
Years ago, South cinema superstar turned down an offer from Shah Rukh Khan’s film. It was reported that she rejected an item number offer in Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Chennai Express’. She declined to perform the item song ‘One Two Three Four’ in the 2013 film ‘Chennai Express’.
