Salman Khan made his return to the big screen with the much awaited film ‘Sikandar’ and it has been creating massive hype among the audience. Shreya Gupto, who was seen in Sikandar in a pivotal role, exclusively talks to News24 about her experience of working with Salman Khan, filmmaker AR Murugadoss and more.
When asked about how Salman Khan is on set, Shreya tells us that the actor is very calm and composed. Recalling her experience, she says, “We grew up watching his film. His iconic song ‘O Oh Jaane Jaana’ clicked in my mind the moment I saw him. I was not intimidated after seeing him because he seemed very calm in his own zone and presence. He has been very collaborative and he gets into the lines and other stuff.”
Sharing how she bonded with AR Murugadoss on the set of Sikandar, Shreya further adds, “Because AR Murugadoss is a Tamilian and I also know Tamil because I grew up in Chennai. I could understand sir’s thought and a lot of times, I could translate his thought to Salman sir. I got that opportunity. Moreover, working in a Nadiadwala set is a privilege.”
Shreya also reveals that Salman Khan bought gifts for kids on sets and it was heartwarming experience for them. She tells us, “There was another scene where, Salman had to buy things for the kids. And he actually bought many things for the kids. The kids were shooting for more than thirty-five to fifty days. When they got to know that Salman sir was getting them some things, they were so happy. It was a full paisa vasool moment for them.”
Praising Salman’s sweet gesture, she adds, “I realised that if somebody in the media says a star is generous, that means there is a generous side to him.”
The actress further reveals that Salman did not use any glycerin in any emotional scenes and praises his performance. She says, “We did not communicate much because there were a lot of securities. But off camera, what I could do is just observe him. There are so many emotional scenes you would see in Sikandar and he did not take any glycerin for most of the scenes. I did have the privilege of doing one more scene with them, which got edited. But that scene was amazing. I would never forget that. There are a lot of other scenes, where he did not use glycerin.”
